Biographical Notes

I was born in 1966 in Linz, Austria. At the age of 16 I started painting and found a mentor in Fritz Aigner. In 1985, I was admitted to the University of Art and Design in Linz and in 1986 I moved to the master class for painting by Wolfgang Hutter at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 1989 I graduated with an early diploma and founded my studio in Ölkam near Linz.

My quest for new aesthetic visions is one of the most important features of my work. My work moves between interior, landscape and figuration, embracing the tradition of painting by exploring contemporary possibilities and formulating new syntheses based on the past. In my work alternative perspectives on the temporal world and its cultural identity are illuminated.

My works have brought me international recognition. They are exhibited in major galleries and art fairs and are located in prestigious public and private collections.
